Crestron, InfoComm Partner for 4K Training

4K in a Day course will help manufacturers and integrators better understand how 4K technology works.

Crestron and InfoComm International are working together to help those who want to learn more about 4K: what it can do, how to implement it and why it’s something they should talk about with end users who are looking to implement it in their projects.

Through the 4K in a Day course, offered in Crestron‘s classrooms around the world, hundreds of people representing manufacturers and integrators will learn how to implement 4K in their projects and how to better distribute the technology. Not only will that help end users better understand 4K, but their increased interest could mean big things for the bottom lines of those who make or install 4K products.

“Our clients demand the best,” says new Crestron president Randy Klein, noting the company has also developed its own 4K certification. “There’s no question that the quality and beauty of 4K Ultra HD is just that.”

The class is “aimed at ensuring that designers and engineers understand the intricacies of installing 4K video products,” according to the joint press release from Crestron and InfoComm International on the new undertaking. Crestron is underwriting the cost of classes and regional pricing is available for classes outside North America.

CTS holders will earn renewal units for 4K in a Day.

“With market needs driving 4K dominance, it is important for industry professionals to become proficient in this format to stay competitive,” says InfoComm executive director and CEO David Labuskes.

For the first half of the day, InfoComm University instructors will teach about the technology and design elements relating to 4K products. They will discuss challenges of distributing and engineering 4K solutions such as mismatched resolutions, new frame rate considerations, signal integrity issues, new cable length restrictions and source/display compatibility.

In the second half of the day, Crestron will showcase its 4K distribution product solutions, including demonstrations, tours of the hosting Crestron experience center and valuable interchange between Crestron trainers and students.
