Don’t Be Sunk By Lesser Known OSHA Regulations

Published: 2015-08-19

During a CI Summit 2015 session on regulatory compliance issues affecting integrators, presenter Duffy Wilbert laid out several regulations integrators ought to consider, including prevailing wage, project labor agreement (PLA) and Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

An aspect of OSHA’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) was among the more eye-opening issues Wilbert discussed – specifically the environmental part.

Integrators already know about the health safety aspect, Wilbert pointed out, but not all seem to know that they also need an environment plan or what that entails.

“That environment plan has to do with how you’re going to get rid of batteries, how you’re going to get rid of products [and] all the issues that impact the environment.”

If integrators deal with subcontractors they’re also responsible for how those subs’ environmental plan.
