DVIGear Adds to DisplayNet Line with DN-110TX Series HDMI 10GbE Transmitter/Receiver

During InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, DVIGear grew its DisplayNet line with the DN-110TX Series HDMI 10GbE transmitter/receiver, allowing DisplayNet to deliver scalability, versatility and reliability thanks to the enormous installed base of 10GbE hardware used in IT and data centers around the world.

Several years ago the Marietta, Ga.-based A/V signal distribution manufacturer DVIGear saw the way the electronics industry was trending and got out in front of the technology curve by introducing its DisplayNet line.

DisplayNet, like a growing array of media distribution solutions, utilizes A/V over IP to save on system equipment and infrastructure costs.

“DisplayNet is an award-winning new concept for AV distribution that uses proven 10GbE technology to switch, extend and distribute uncompressed AV signals in real time with resolutions up to 4K (UHD),” according to the company’s release. “By leveraging 10GbE Ethernet technology, DisplayNet delivers unprecedented levels of scalability, versatility and reliability thanks to the enormous installed base of 10GbE hardware used in IT / data center applications around the world.”

Enabling integrators to use standard 10GbE networking switches, along with the growing family DisplayNet products, the signal-transmission platform eliminates the limitations of using traditional matrix switching-based systems, which are highlighted by its infinite expansion capabilities.

This year during InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, DVIGear added to the DisplayNet line with several product additions, including the DN-110TX Series HDMI 10GbE transmitter/receiver, which the company says accepts multiple sources, including HDMI with HDCP, as well as analog stereo audio, and control signals such as IR, RS-232 and Ethernet.

DVIGear says all of these signals are packed into a single 10GbE link without the aid of any type of codec, and are distributed throughout a system via any typical 10Gbe network switch. The system when using single Cat-6/Cat-7 cable runs can transmit A/V signals as far as 328 feet without any loss of signal integrity.

The DN-110 series is capable of distributing 4K UltraHD video at 30fps (4:4:4) and 4K at 60fps (4:2:0) without image artifacts and latency. DVIGear notes that dealers can route video signals in a choice of point-to-point, matrix switching or video wall modes within the same system, and some of the line’s advanced features include networked audio, audio re-embedding and de-embedding, and audio downmixing.

DVIGear adds that DN100 Series products are controlled by a DisplayNet Server that includes the company’s DisplayNet Manager software, which provides options such as third-party control system integration.

Complete Feature List

  • Distribute AV signals using off-the-shelf 10GbE network switches
  • Fast / Seamless Switching of HDMI signals up to 4K /30p (4:4:4), and 4K /60p (4:2:0)
  • Vastly superior to existing Video over IP products:  zero frame latency, no compression, no artifacts
  • Supports HDMI, HDCP, Embedded Audio, Analog Stereo Audio, Bidirectional IR, RS-232 and 1GbE over 10GbE link
  • Fully Routable, Independent Switching Layers for all signal types (e.g. Video, Audio, IR, RS232, etc.)
  • Supports Audio Embedding and De-embedding
  • Unconstrained scalability – Supports nearly limitless arrays of I/O ports
  • Maximum range up to 100 meters (328 ft.) using a single CAT6a or CAT7 cable
  • Maximum range up to 30 km using 10GbE optical version (planned Q4.2015)
  • Powerful Control Software and API enable deep integration into new or existing AV systems
  • All endpoints include a built-in Gigabit Ethernet switch for high-speed local network connections

Benefits to Integrators

  • Leverages decades of proven networking technology and massive global deployment of 10GbE networks
  • AV assets no longer need to be aggregated at a central location using an expensive AV Matrix Switcher
  • Eliminates the need for costly, redundant AV networks as all AV assets can now reside on existing IT networks
  • Enables IT Managers to easily manage and distribute AV assets within corporate network environments
  • 10 GbE network switches can be up to 60 percent smaller than typical AV switches and up to 1/10th the cost
  • Scalable – system array limited only by the number of installed endpoints and size (ports) of 10GbE switch
  • High-speed uplinks on many 10GbE switches allow increased port capacity without obsoleting existing hardware
  • Capable of concurrent Video Wall and Matrix Switching operation – supports diverse range of applications
  • Embedded Local Management – DisplayNet auto-configures all connected devices even in the most complex networked systems thus eliminating the need for network switch configuration
