Exterity Aims to Maximize Impact of IP Video with New Future-Proof Solutions

Published: 2016-06-09

Exterity has a lot to talk about at InfoComm 2016, as its booth #N2839 is showcasing the company’s complete enterprise IP video product portfolio featuring 4K, mobile video compatibility, ArtioSign and ArtioPortal platforms and SmartTV integration.

“InfoComm this year is incredibly exciting for us,” says Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity. “We’re presenting three threads of development over the past few years.”

Farquhar says the most exciting product being showcased at its booth is the company’s new digital signage product called ArtioSign.

“There’s been an increasing demand from our customers to provide signage integrated as part of the IPTV video distribution system so we’ve added ArtioSign to our portfolio, which allows us to take one of our receiver devices and allow it to be essentially flipped between pure IPTV video distribution and signage mode where the stream real estate can be used for a variety of purposes over and above just the delivery of video,” says Farquhar.

Farquar adds that ArtioSign is easily controlled and works well for a small deployment such as in a reception area in an office.

“If a company wants to have corporate news alongside a live TV news feed, the level of control we offer allows it to scale quite nicely so you can really begin to distribute lots of video digital signage material around your facility.”

Exterity is also demonstrating its ArtioPortal platform integrated with Samsung SmartTVs, the latest version of the AvediaServer_middleware platform that extends the ability to create a tailored viewing interface for TV, Video on Demand and interactive services across a broader range of devices, including SmartTVs, smartphones and tablets.

“This type of application is the next phase of network application for many AV integrators. They’ll be working in a world where cabling systems are designed purely for AV. They’re moving into this AV over IT where they understand the networking infrastructure,” says Farquar.

“There are many factors that can affect and influence the quality of delivered content. We’re building up a lot of expertise and we’re very keen on sharing that technology itself but also knowledge of the space with integration partners.”

Exterity’s solutions are targeted for various different markets, including hospitality, education and corporate.

Farquhar invites all InfoComm attendees to stop by Exterity’s booth to learn more about the company’s innovations and how they can address needs in the marketplace.

“We’re here to talk about our whole portfolio and to help the partners and resellers and end users that we meet to understand how they can take these products and deliver effective solutions into the marketplace.”
