Extron's TLM 100T iPad enclosure is intended for fixed iPad control environments.

The Skinny: Extron has built what it is calling the professional A/V industry’s first secure iPad enclosure, the TLM 100T. It is designed for use with the second-, third- and fourth-generation iPads.

The Specs: The TLM 100T mount is a tabletop enclosure designed to combine security and a wide variety of mounting options. It allows access to key iPad functions and has several features that make it ideal for high-traffic areas where an iPad is running Extron control apps or is being used as a presentation video source. When locked in with the included security fasteners, the iPad is safeguarded against theft. The cable management system allows iPad adapters and charging cables to be routed through the adjustable and removable base, which also allows for 45 degrees of tilt and can be paired with an optional Extron SMA-1 Swivel Mount Adapter. This allows the iPad to tilt and swivel, providing convenient viewing for multiple users. The TLM 100T can also be paired with an Extron LPVM-1 Low Profile VESA Mount for additional mounting flexibility.

Solutions: The company envisions this for use in a variety of environments where iPads are used as fixed-location control solutions. “While wireless control allows freedom to move from room to room, there are many scenarios where an iPad needs to remain in a fixed location as part of an integrated control solution,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Extron. “The TLM 100T allows the iPad to act as a secure, permanent control interface in a classroom, boardroom, or any AV environment.”
