Published: 2015-10-09

FutureVideo Products, Inc. recently announced it’s launching the V-Station HD Pro4 multi-channel DVR, saying it’s “designed to meet the needs and expectations of event videographers” for $2,995 MSRP.

The V-Station HD Pro4 “enables independent content creators to record up to four HD cameras of a multi-cam or multi-angle shoot in one device, plus perform live switching and streaming, all at the same time,” assording to FutureVideo’s press release. It also includes a USB touch-screen control panel for portable operation, according to the announcement.

Here’s more from FutureVideo’s press release on the V-Station HD Pro4:

This full-featured DVR records 4 simultaneous video tracks of full HD 1080p at 60fps video in H.264 format, and can accept either HDMI or 3G/HD/SD-SDI sources, while viewing all sources on a single screen.

Unlike any DVR or live production system today, it can do live switching and perform line-cuts while simultaneously recording at full HD with all four channels. As an optional upgrade to the Pro4 Plus model, the line-cuts from the live program can be recorded simultaneously as a 5th track at the same time as it records the other 4 channels, providing an instant rough-cut.

V-Station HD Pro4 can record all video inputs, including either the camera’s audio or separate 4 line audio inputs, in perfect sync. It has a built-in 1TB HDD which holds approximately 80 hours of 1920 x 1080p 60fps full HD video when four cameras are simultaneously being recorded.

With its built-in project management system, V-Station HD Pro4 enables seamless project transfer from wrap to post-production with its advanced XML project transfer capability. It automatically creates the bins and sequences from the line-cuts, thereby eliminating the tedium of organizing and syncing the video content during post-production.

Users can record and playback simultaneously via its fully featured built-in media player, all which may be operated by hot-keys as well as the touch-screen panel.

According to Stephen Godfrey, FutureVideo’s director of business development, “V-Station HD Pro4 provides a host of new video acquisition and live production possibilities. The new live-switching and line-cuts functions provide an instant rough-cut video that can be uploaded to the user’s FTP site or YouTube directly from the DVR with an internet connection. Or, the user can attach a third-party streaming device, and broadcast live the event being recorded. Users will marvel at the creative and workflow benefits, as much as the affordability.”
