Matrox will showcase their Maevex AV-over-IP devices at InfoComm this June.

Samuel Recine took some time to talk to CI about Matrox and what it has planned for integrators visiting its booth at InfoComm 2014, June 18-20 in Las Vegas.

If we learn about only one product innovation in your InfoComm 2014 booth, what should it be?

Matrox Maevex. This line of H.264 AV-over-IP devices features a low network bit rate for a really high-quality 1080p60 H.264 encode. A Maevex-encoded stream can be viewed with any compliant software including popular media players like VLC.

Or you can deploy small, fanless Matrox Maevex decoder boxes and easily manage the whole array of Maevex encoders and decoders on a network with Matrox PowerStream software. In addition to showing how you can easily switch streams, Matrox will also be demonstrating new Maevex functionalities, such as recording AV sources including desktop video for storage on the network.

What if we have time to see one more thing?

Matrox Mura MPX. We’ll be demonstrating how you can capture, crop, scale, convert, and display many sources on many displays with the market’s only proven HDCP-capable video wall controller boards in a PC-based platform.

You can even add effects such as fade-in and fade-out, transparency, etc., on traditional video sources like DVI or SDI, and hybridize these with IP sources like a video stream being decoded in VLC.

What’s one last impression you’d like us to take away from your InfoComm 2014 booth?

You can easily move video-over-IP onto one or more video walls by combining Matrox products.  Create an easy-to-use audio and video distribution solution over a standard network using Maevex and create supernodes on video walls with scaling using Mura. You can also add Matrox KVM extenders to the mix for applications where real-time control over remote workstations is key.
