Whether it’s an electronics professional in the residential or commercial field, they both typically agree that HDMI is one of the most problematic formats ever introduced to the high technology world.

The Skinny: Kramer Electronics’ new VM-114H4C digital switcher incorporates the company’s proprietary I-EDIDPro Intelligent EDID processing to help eliminate some of the common problems installers run into when implementing HDMI in the field.

The Specs: The I-EDIDPro Intelligent EDID processing technology utilizes a processing algorithm that ensures plug-and-play compatibility with a variety of HDMI devices. The digital switcher also includes the company’s re-Klocking technology that is said to rebuild a digital signal, allowing it to travel long distances without degradation. The unit has a maximum data rate of 2.25Gps per graphics channel and supports 3D video, Deep Color, x.u.Color, HD content and uncompressed Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio HD. The HDCP compliant device also features one HDMI input and one RJ-45 Cat-5 input along with a Cat-5 output.

Solutions: The VM-114H4C digital switch can be used for many types of HD A/V content distribution.
