The Alhambra, Calif.-based manufacturer Opticomm-Emcore has big plans for the upcoming 2014 InfoComm show in Las Vegas that include several new product introductions.
The Skinny: Some of the new products the company plans on displaying at this year’s annual InfoComm trade event are the Optiva OTP-1DV12A1UKM and OpenGear OPG-1DV12A1UKM KVM extenders.
The Specs: According to Opticomm, a division of Emcore, proprietary Optiva OTP-1DV12A1UKM and open-architecture OpenGear OPG-1DV12A1UKM KVM extenders are specifically engineered for commercial A/V installations. They extend and convert DVI, VGA and component video, along with stereo analog audio and USB-HID KVM for remote keyboard and mouse activities over a single fiber run.
Opticomm states both cards allow for two choices of optics — the original 4.25Gbps for component video up to 1920×1080 at 60Hz and 1600×1200 for PC graphics for distances of more than 15 miles. The other option supports bandwidth capabilities up to 10.3Gbps for 3,840×2,160 UHD content support at distances over six miles.
The California manufacturer adds that the proprietary Optiva OTP-1DV12A1UKM is compatible with all of its Optiva fiber cards, and they can be managed by its OptivaView SNMP and Controller card. The open-architecture OpenGear OPG-1DV12A1UKM KVM extender is compatible with all OpenGear fiber cards, as well as other third-party products.
Solutions: The Opticomm-Emcore proprietary Optiva OTP-1DV12A1UKM and open-architecture OpenGear OPG-1DV12A1UKM KVM extenders can be used for military, post-production, education and other mission critical A/V installations.
