Opticomm-EMCORE, a leading provider of end-to-end multimedia distribution equipment for 4K UHD and beyond, announced today the release of the Optiva OTP-1HDMI2A-USB-ETH and OTC-HDMI2A-USB-ETH, 4K UHD transmitters and receivers for multimedia transport and distribution over fiber and CATx/HDBaseT networks. Both models are compatible with the Genesis XD Multimedia Cross-Point Matrix Switch platform enabling point-to-point and point-to-multipoint multimedia distribution systems.

Opticomm-EMCORE will showcase the new Genesis compatible Optiva cards at InfoComm 2015 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida from June 17-19, booth 3579.

Genesis XD is an all-in-one, modular, non-blocking, full cross-point matrix switch platform that can switch and convert any signal input to any signal output with scaling to deliver seamless connectivity to one or multiple HD displays. The new Genesis compatible Optiva OTP-1HDMI2A-USB-ETH transmitter and receive provide multimedia extension of 4K video along with audio, Ethernet and USB for keyboard and mouse over fiber. The OTP-1HDMI2A-USB-ETH is a single slot fiber extender that supports the HDMI 1.4b and Audio Return Channel (ARC). It also supports stereo analog audio, 10/100 Ethernet and USB for keyboard and mouse control. A single fiber cable can extend these signals up to 100 meters away.

The Optiva OTC-HDMI2A-USB-ETH provides multimedia extension of 4K video along with audio, Ethernet and USB for keyboard and mouse over CATx/HDBaseT. The OTC-HDMI2A-USB-ETH is a single CATx/HDBaseT extender that supports HDMI 1.4b and Audio Return Channel (ARC). It also supports stereo analog audio, 10/100 Ethernet and USB for keyboard and mouse control. A single CATX cable can extend these signals up to 100 meters away.

All Genesis compatible Optiva transmitter and receiver modules can be used for simple point-to-point connectivity, or for point-to-multipoint systems by connecting them to our Genesis XD matrix switches utilizing compatible Genesis fiber or CATx/HDBaseT modules.

“We are excited to bring together the capabilities of both our Optiva platform for multimedia distribution and the Genesis XD platform for multimedia matrix switching to enable an all-in-one transport, converting, switching, and routing system for small-to-large Enterprise video distribution systems,” said Henok Tafese, Sr. Director of Business Development for EMCORE. “We continue to develop the synergies between our leading-edge Genesis XD and Optiva platforms to deliver an entire product portfolio of 4K and above Ultra HD resolutions,” added Tafese.

In addition to showcasing the latest Genesis compatible multipoint products at InfoComm 2015, Opticomm-EMCORE will also demonstrate both the Genesis XD platform for HD multimedia distribution over fiber and CATx/HDBaseT, and the new HD4-E and HD4-D H.264 Encoder and Decoder for broadcast quality video over IP.
