These days most people talk about digital this and digital that, but when sorting through all of this digital scuttlebutt, often times what is discovered is that analog technologies are just as applicable.
The Skinny: The latest security products from Samsung provide electronics professionals the ability to update their clients existing analog security system with HD video solutions.
The Specs: The new video surveillance product series from Samsung Techwin America offers a choice between an HD-SDI 1920x1080 box camera, an HD-SDI 1920x1080 dome camera and a four-channel HD-SDI DVR. Samsung says the HD-SDI products deliver five times the resolution of standard analog components and they offer a cost-efficient alternative to network-based infrastructures through the use of standard coax cabling. The cameras incorporate RS-485 and 24-volt/12-volt compatibility, and the DVR offers real-time recording at 720p for each channel with 1080p support. The H.264 enabled recorder also incorporates deinterlacing to clean up image quality and it works with SATA HDDs up to 2TB to allow DVD-RWs and USB devices to be used for archiving.
Solutions: The line of products can be used to update or augment existing analog security systems, or electronics professionals can utilize the products as a cost-effective solution for new commercial security clients.
