SnapAV Binary HDMI Matrix Switchers Feature HDBaseT

Published: 2014-07-30

Residential and commercial AV manufacturer SnapAV begins shipping its new line of Binary B-500 Series HDMI matrix switchers featuring HDBaseT technology.

The company says the Binary matrix switchers transmit full uncompressed HD video, audio, and control signals with bi-directional IR through a single Cat5e/6 cable. Simultaneous HDMI and HDBaseT outputs facilitate this process.

The switcher is capable of transmitting HDMI signals up to 230 feet. SnapAV says the simultaneous outputs allow for multiple displays to work in parallel, with an HDMI output for a local display, and an HDBaseT out for longer distances.

“Not only do these new products leverage HDBaseT technology for robust A/V distribution, but they also come with the flexibility and installability that Binary is known for,” says G. Paul Hess, VP of Product for BinaryTM Media Distribution. “And to ensure bulletproof performance in the real world, we ran them through extensive in-field testing as well as the ESD/Surge gauntlet in our 7500 square foot engineering lab.”

The new switchers are integration-ready with Ethernet (excluding 4×4 model) and RS-232. Additionally, IR control and routing from zones to sources makes IR-only installations easy, plus each model supports low-voltage and wide carrier frequency IR applications.

MSRP begins at $2299 for the 4×4, up to $19,999 for the 16×16 model, and $249 for the receiver.
