Speakers from TOA UL-Listed for Mass Notification

Published: 2015-08-18

Adding to its UL listed model range, TOA Electronics, Inc., has introduced four new UL-listed paging and BGM speakers.

The four models—PE-304U, PE-604U, BS-680U and the SC-630TU—carry the UL1480 listing for speakers used in life-safety applications such as mass notification and emergency voice alarm. The speakers feature split speaker lines for connecting block and DC-blocking capacitors for use with line supervising amplifier equipment.

Looking at the specific models, TOA states the PE-304U and PE-604U are 30-watt and 60-watt pendent speakers that feature a design that facilitates their use in environments that include suspended lighting fixtures. A 15-foot reinforced speaker line and two additional 16.4-foot aircraft-cable support wires with Gripple locks enable dealers to install the speakers in locations with high ceilings, and connectivity options such as 8 ohm, 25 volt, 70 volt and 100 volt facilitate their usage in a variety of audio systems.

The BS-680U is a wall-mounted speaker that features a metal enclosure for applications such as hallway paging and BGM. The West Coast company states the speaker can also mount in-wall for less inclusive installations, and it incorporates taps for 25 volts, 70 volts and 100 volts.

TOA’s SC-630TU is an outdoor loudspeaker that is IP65-rated for outdoor paging with connections for 25-volt, 70-volt and 100-volt systems, and it includes an integrated, adjustable mounting bracket that enables its installation on walls and poles.

The Burlingame, Calif., manufacturer adds, the SC-630TU is 113dB sensitive to help it to deliver enough volume for plenty of sound pressure levels (SPLs) in outdoor settings.
