People don’t go to a sports bar just to grab beer and some nachos. It’s all about watching the game on a big screen surrounded by fellow fans.
And if the A/V setup is sub-par creating a less-than-memorable experience, bar patrons will take notice and might go elsewhere for the next big game.
Cool River Sports Bar in Austin, Texas has had a Digital Projection projector on a Screen Innovations 215” Solar 1.3 screen for about four years.
The projection setup made watching a game in the bar the next best thing to being in the stadium. Only problem was that daytime games were unwatchable due to the ambient light inside the bar.

To draw in fans for daytime games, Cool River replaced the Solar 1.3 screen with a 215” Black Diamond Venue Screen that features a 1.4 gain, projecting a great image despite the daytime light.
Now, Cool River is scoring big on more afternoon events.
