Video Weekly News: Pope Francis Preparations, Largest LED Display in College Football

Published: 2015-09-21

A lot happened in the past week in terms of commercial integration in the mainstream media.

For example, Pope Francis is visiting the United States, hitting Washington, New York City and Philadelphia all within the next week. His stop in Philly is important to CIs because of the huge technology task in front of the Philadelphia police in preparation for the Pope’s visit. NICE Systems is donating additional 9-1-1 call recording and incident management equipment to the city during this time.

In sports news, Auburn University has procured the largest LED video board in college football. Daktronics’ 10,800-square-foot video board at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium is so bright, it can be seen eight miles away.

But just because something isn’t being widely discussed doesn’t mean it isn’t worthy of attention. CI is shining a spotlight on sound masking, a small but valuable category of acoustical treatments intended to improve corporate environments with devices omitting slight white noise, minimizing distractions and improving productivity in the office. In this video, president of Lencore Acoustics, Jonathan Leonard, tells integrators how to succeed in this category.
