VuWall Introduces Unique Collaboration Software at InfoComm 2016

Published: 2016-07-11

CoScape is VuWall‘s collaboration and wireless presentation software. It can be used in a video wall application, display, or single projector.

In its InfoComm 2016 booth, VuWall was demonstrating using a video wall but it can be any sort of display.

VuWall has a unique product in that it requires a USB dongle to be able to display your content to the collaboration display. This allows you to restrict who is able to project to the collaboration display and who is not able to by limiting the number of USB keys that are available in any given room.

You need to connect your source to the same network as the display and make certain you have enough USB keys. Once that is accomplished you begin connecting.

Once connected the software to control the interactive and collaborative portions of the display appear on your source device. This software allows you to position and size the various participants displaying at any given time.

The benefits of the CoScape may also be its undoing. The need of the USB key is a unique idea in the collaborative display space. Restricting the available devices by the number of USB dongles available is a good idea.

The downside of this approach is the requirement for someone in the support staff to keep track of those USB keys for each room and make certain they are returned at the end of the presentation.

That being said, the support of large resolution collaboration systems is a mark for the CoScape system. It is not married to the multi-display system and can scale down to a single display collaborative space system relatively easily.

Its ability to do so is a good advantage. The software being available from the USB key is also a nice addition that other collaborative software companies might want to take a look.
