D-Tools Enhances Project Management, Streamlines Purchase Ordering on System Integrator 2016

D-Tools Inc. shows off enhanced project management and streamlined purchase order features on its System Integrator software platform at InfoComm 2016 (Booth C8730).

The newest version of System Integrator 2016 includes “a number of productivity enhancements for project creation, editing, and management,” according to a D-Tools announcement. SI 2016 “also delivers subtle UI improvements and workflow enhancements that provide tangible time saving for many routine, daily operations,” according to the announcement.

On the project management side, users can create and assign locations and systems, and while adding products to the project from the catalog, they are essentially building a bill of materials or equipment list, according to D-Tools.

Labor calculations are automatically assigned based on established labor rates and estimated time to install. As users add products and packages, SI automatically calculates an estimated install price. All documentation is generated from the project file, from client reports (such as proposals, contracts, etc.) to drawings (via D-Tools’ integration with Visio and AutoCAD), as well as installation and management reports.

SI 2016’s new purchase order features enable System Integrator users to issue POs to vendors directly from within SI 2016. Users can also create purchase orders with products from the SI catalog or directly from an SI project or multiple projects. Purchase orders can then be submitted to the vendor via email or through the forthcoming D-Tools vendor portal, which will facilitate direct communication between SI users and the vendors from which products are sourced.

The vendor portal will enable vendors to accept POs from SI users. Vendors get notified when a PO is published to the portal, where they can sign in and view POs, accept or reject them and enter a vendor reference number once the order is processed.

All told, SI 2016 adds more than 50 productivity features and enhancements that make it faster and easier than ever for commercial AV, higher ed, security and residential integration professionals to do estimation, system design and project management.

SI 2016 offers improvements in virtually every functional area including integrations with SupplyStream and QuickBooks Online, purchase order management and numerous improvements to reporting, scheduling and Mobile Install. Now available as an upgrade for existing customers, SI 2016 will be provided at no cost for customers participating in the D-Tools Software Assurance program.
