Inside Contemporary Research’s InfoComm 2015 Booth

Published: 2015-06-23

Contemporary Research showcased its new high-definition TV tuner, the 232-ATSC 4, as well as new features to its Display Express software for control, at this year’s InfoComm show.

The 232 ATSC’s newest release offers dual scalers—performing two channels of HD modulation over coax as well as two channels of HD streaming—as well as MPEG-4 and H.264. CR says it’s the “only company on the floor today that can do control over coax” with the new tuner.

Across the booth, CR’s Display Express software now includes an emergency button for mass notification and emergency communication (MNEC). The new feature communicates with the settings of TVs and projectors on the system to automatically switch to a specific channel to broadcast an emergency message in the event of an emergency. After the broadcast is over, all the settings reset on their original channels.
