InfoComm Q&A: Lumens’ VC-A50P PTZ IP Camera Is First with PoE, AV over IP

Don’t forget to stop by Lumens‘ booth (#2375) at InfoComm 2017 to check out its new PTZ cameras, including the VC-A50P Full HD PTZ IP camera (the company’s first IP camera with PoE and AV over IP) and the VC-B30U USB 3.0 PTZ camera.

Steven Liang, director of product management, Lumens, spoke with CI about these new products and what integrators will see at the company’s booth at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando, June 14-16.

If we learn about only one product innovation in your InfoComm 2017 booth, what should it be?

The VC-A50P Full HD PTZ IP camera. This will be Lumens first IP camera with PoE and AV over IP technology.

The camera is capable of being power supplied through PoE providing an economical solution for many integrators. The Ethernet glass-to-glass low latency is less than 120ms. It also supports H.264 MJPEG video compression format that can reduce the bandwidth for transmitting video.

What if we have time to see one more thing?

The VC-B30U USB 3.0 PTZ camera. This camera is Full HD 1080p/60fps. It has a 12x optical zoom lens, and excellent image quality. The camera may be placed on a wall, table or even a medical cart.

The camera is compatible with videoconferencing software running on any OS that supports USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices.

What’s one last impression you’d like us to take away from your InfoComm 2017 booth?

AV over IP is the trend for the near future with highest demand of Lumens PTZ cameras in the broadcast, entertainment and healthcare applications.

Lumens’ cameras have the best image quality and different markets are able to use these cameras to take videos without having to deal with additional technical interferences or bringing on additional staff to manage the video equipment.

With our dual color option, customers can select the camera color that they prefer for their installation project.
