InfoComm 2015 took “go big or go home” to another level—especially when it came to digital signage.

With giant signs and bright colors, this year’s show floor was lit up with eye-popping digital signage displays. Vendors showed their latest and greatest in digital display technologies in the form of mosaic puzzle pieces, tall, thin wall models, and traditional, thin-bezel flat panels.

Some companies took a more creative approach—NEC Display Solutions introduced its new large format display as a café menu for attendees to order cookies and coffee from.

“You can order live on a touch screen, and the barista will fill the order,” says Keith Yanke, senior director of product marketing at NEC. “Through digital signage they’ll notify you that your order is ready for pick up at the counter.”

Aside from keeping attendees caffeinated at awed at their latest display, Yanke says he hopes NEC’s other digital signage will attract curious eyes with its other displays.

“We’re showcasing high-brightness displays that can possibly be used outdoors with high ambient lighting,” he says. These displays can be used “to showcase information about a campus with IP rated products, and high brightness products without additional enclosures.”
