GoVision is no stranger to history or big events, and the Argyle, Texas-based company will again be in the front row for a presidential inauguration, when Donald Trump becomes the 45th president of the United States on Friday, Jan. 20.

Two 19’ x 33’ G16 mobile LED screens will flank Trump on the steps of the U.S. Capitol as he takes the oath of office and succeeds Barack Obama as the most powerful leader in the world. Nine additional mobile and modular screens will be set up in strategic locations around the Capitol to enable the expected crowd of more than 1 million to enjoy a the ceremony.

GoVision will also supply the wireless transmitters that send the video signal from the U.S. Capitol to each of the screens.

“We will be taking our screens to more than 1,000 events across North America this year, but none carries more historical significance, or will be viewed by more people worldwide, than a presidential inauguration,” said Chris Curtis, founder and CEO of GoVision. “We’re honored to be entrusted with this extraordinary responsibility for the fourth time, and we look forward to providing the huge crowds with a front-row seat to the ceremony.”

A total of 11 GoVision screens will be set up throughout the Capitol:

  • U.S. Capitol Steps: two G16 19-foot-by-33-foot mobile units
  • Reflecting Pool: two 9-foot-by-16-foot GV6mm modular screens mounted on scaffolding
  • 3rd Street: 9-foot-by-16-foot GV6 modular screen mounted on scaffolding
  • Peace Circle: G6 9-foot-by-16-foot mobile unit
  • Garfield Circle: G6 9-foot-by-16-foot mobile unit
  • Grant Memorial: two G4 9-foot-by-16-foot mobile units
  • Opposite side of U.S. Capitol: two G4 9-foot-by-16-foot mobile units

GoVision is providing several additional LED screens across the city for the Trump inauguration, including a 14-foot-by-24-foot G10 mobile LED unit for a private party at the Canadian Embassy.

Each of the mobile screens provided by GoVision is comprised of 10mm CF (carbon fiber) tiles, making them the lightest LED panels in the world, according to GoVision officials. The modular LED screens are configured from 6mm tiles, which are also ultra-lightweight and offer extremely high resolution both indoors and out.
