Crown Amps Include Proprietary DriveCore Class D Technologies

The 2U-high XLC 2800 and XLC2500 amplifiers from Crown utilize Harman’s efficient DriveCore technologies to produce high power levels.

HARMAN is one of the largest and highest profile audio manufacturers in the professional and consumer markets, and during the recently completed InfoComm Show the company’s Crown brand debuted several new products.

The Skinny: The newly announced XLC2800 and XLC2500 amplifiers are designed to provide electronics professionals a choice of powerful and versatile amplifiers that can be used for a variety of installations.

The Specs: Crown states the XLC2800 and XLC2500 amps can safely operate at a range of 2 ohm to 8 ohm impedance levels, and in bridged mode, the amps can produce 2,400 watts and 1,550 watts each respectively into 4-ohm loads. At the heart of the amplifiers is HARMAN’s Class-D based DriveCore technologies that enable the amps to operate efficiently within a small and lightweight footprint.

Crown adds that the 2U-high amps respectively produce 775 watts and 500 watts into 4 ohms when setup in stereo mode, and the company points out the products are engineered to provide years of service.

“Our new XLC Series amplifiers provide a cost-effective solution for restaurants, bars, stores, businesses and other establishments that don’t require the high power output and networking connectivity of our other amplifier lines, yet still need a top-quality amplifier that’s totally reliable and delivers outstanding sound quality,” says Daniel Sanez, business segment manager, Crown Audio.

Solutions: Crown’s new XLC amplifiers can be used for many audio system installations including bars, restaurants, and corporate boardrooms.
