T3 Innovation Tester Measures Network Speeds, Power over Ethernet (PoE)

The Net Chaser Ethernet Speed Certifier from T3 Innovation helps dealers maintain clients’ network performance and connectivity.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a small home network or sprawling commercial network, network speed and reliability are of paramount importance in today’s world.

Helping dealers in the residential and commercial markets maintain their clients’ networks is the Camarillo, Calif.-based manufacturer T3 Innovation. The company’s latest product was developed to help dealers to test the capabilities of Ethernet networks by up to 1 Gb/s to validate performance and connectivity.

The newly announced Net Chaser Ethernet Speed Certifier is a “Made in the USA” product designed to enable users to test for wiring shorts, speed capabilities, cable lengths, bit-rate reliability, signal-to-noise ratio and SKEW testing to verify network connectivity.

The tester also includes the ability to measure Power over Ethernet (PoE) to ensure the correct power is available for the correct pins, and its port discovery ensures correct speeds are available for duplex capabilities. Other test options include ping tests and the ability to test using Cisco’s Discovery Protocol.

Here’s a more complete list of the tester’s functions:

  • Measures and displays length for each pair in feet or meters
  • Displays improperly terminated cables on a color wire map
  • Detects lengths to opens and shorts
  • Verifies continuity for RJ-45 and coax cables
  • ID only modes
  • VLAN discovery
  • Pings to a specific IP or URL address
  • Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Pack offers eight hours of battery life
  • Saves and print reports in a choice of CSV or PDF formats
  • Active Ethernet (link compatibility and link status)
