Terra knows a thing or two about building rugged, outdoor-ready speakers. The company is based in Maine, after all.

During InfoComm 2015 in Orlando, Fla., Terra showcased its outdoor solutions, featuring a new twist on its speaker and LED lighting combination, as well as some new indoor loudspeakers. Check out the accompanying slideshow for a better look.

Additionally, the Brunswick-based company shared that recent growth has spurred expansion of its facilities by roughly three times the size, throughout the course of last year, according to PR representative Alex Steed. Increasing interest in outdoor audio, as well as the company’s lifetime guarantee on its outdoor products have helped drive sales, Steed says.

“Right now for the last month we’ve been focusing on Florida, ramping up for the [InfoComm] show and meeting with the reps down here,” says national salesperson Will Hallett.

“The growth for our [sales] side of things is that there’s not a lot of other people that compete with us in terms of price point, guarantee, made in the U.S., and being able to perform the way we perform. So this is a very niche market, we feel we’re kind of leading the way – we kind of have a solution for everything.”

Steed adds that Terra also recently received a grant from the Maine Technology Institute to collaborate with custom speaker specialist Leon Speakers (for which Terra provides some internal components for already, Steed says) on speaker development, with a new Terra-branded landscape speaker expected around the September time frame. Expect an official announcement on that soon.

New for InfoComm, the company continued to push its LS.32 weatherproof bollard lighting and speaker combination, which was at the show last year, but this year included a new controller for the DMX LED lighting component.

And while outdoor solutions are the specialty for Terra, the company also showcased a CAMM Series of indoor speakers that had been in development for quite a while, working with Monte Brothers Sound Systems. Terra will also be working as a sound consultant for the installation of the speakers, which are being aimed particularly at the house of worship market.
