New Focusrite Pro Division to Focus on Customer Support

Published: 2017-10-27

Known for its digital audio interfaces and its implementation of the Dante digital audio platform, Focusrite has announced its new Focusrite Pro division.

The U.K.-based audio manufacturer made the announcement during the recently completed 143rd Audio Engineering Society (AES) show in New York. The company says its new Pro division was formed to serve the “specific needs of audio professionals worldwide.”

Explaining the reasoning for the launch of its Focusrite Pro division, the British company says the division will remove creative and technical barriers by improving the audio professional’s workflow.

Focusrite points out that it now maintains four brands—Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation and Ampify—and it has appointed Richard Nevens, vice president global sales, to lead Focusrite Pro.

“Focusrite Pro seeks to engage with professional audio clients, both pre- and post-sale, as they transition their workflows and facilities to an audio-over-IP infrastructure,” states Nevens.

“Dante technology provides capabilities and a level of flexibility previously unavailable, and Focusrite is the leading provider of this technology throughout this significant industry transition.”

Serving as the foundation of the Focusrite Pro division is a scalable platform that includes three product lines:

  • Red multi-format audio interfaces
  • RedNet modular audio-over-IP solutions
  • ISA microphone preamplifiers and analog signal processors

Nevens notes that Focusrite Pro will serve as a client-facing team that will serve the company’s clients as advisors with technical and sales recommendations to help tailor their audio systems to their exact workflows. [related]

“This includes arranging demos, providing system integration  recommendations by offering comparative proof points through the sales engagement process, and further assistance to ensure all the client’s needs are met,” says Nevens.

Tim Carroll, CEO, Focusrite Audio Engineering, underscores Nevens comments and says the pro audio market now has a team of product designers, support and sales people that will serve their needs.

“The sole focus of Focusrite Pro is to enable audio professionals with best-in-class audio solutions for the modern-day workflows. Audio professionals now have a dedicated team of professional audio product designers, sales and support staff,” emphasizes Carroll.

“This new team will help them build and deploy solutions that address the needs of modern day audio production in broadcast, post production, music production, live and installed sound.”
