LG Showcases Commercial Displays at CEDIA 2017 Expo

LG used 820 Open Frame LG OLED digital signage panels to create the 7,600-square foot video wall at Dubai Aquarium.

The cross-pollination between the residential and commercial markets continues through the annual residential CEDIA trade show, which recently concluded in San Diego. CEDIA 2017 featured a number of products and technologies that are applicable to commercial installations, and helping to meet the growing demand of commercial displays and products in that market is the global electronics company LG.

Highlighting its selection of 10 OLED products in 55-, 65- and 77-inch class sizes, the company demonstrated to CEDIA show attendees the performance capabilities that OLED technologies provide.

“Year after year, LG’s OLED TVs and Commercial Displays are acclaimed by industry professionals and consumers alike as the best TV technology ever,” notes Tim Alessi, senior director, home entertainment product marketing at LG Electronics USA. “LG OLED TVs represent exactly the kind of premium product that custom installers and their high-end customers are clamoring for to transform the home entertainment experience.”

Commercial Displays & TVs Share Technology

Stressing that OLED technologies are applicable in a variety of room environments, LG also points out that its Signature OLED TV W7 provides a high level of industrial design to provide integrators with a display solution that looks as good as it performs.

The LG Signature OLED TV W7 is just 2.57mm thin, and the 65-inch model sits directly on a wall to eliminate any gap between the display and wall. LG also points out its 2017 TVs also utilize its Picture-on-Glass designs in its E7 and G7 series of products, and its B7 and C7 products employ its slim-blade design.

Other technologies LG is implementing in its televisions, which may someday make its way into the commercial market for boardroom systems, is the inclusion of the object-based surround sound format Dolby Atmos. Moreover, the company’s TVs will soon feature Technicolor’s Expert Mode, which displays colors optimized by Technicolor’s color scientists.

The Technicolor Expert Mode complements the TVs’ inclusion of Active HDR, which LG says delivers brighter highlights and greater shadow detail. In addition, all LG televisions come with its integrated webOS Smart TV background.
