Matrox Extio 3 Series KVM Over IP Products to Launch at InfoComm 2017

Published: 2017-06-05

Montreal-based manufacturer Matrox recently introduced its latest product line, the Matrox Extio 3 Series KVM Over IP.

The products securely extend a 4K video signal at 60Hz 4:4:4, or four 1080p signals at 60Hz 4:4:4, along with keyboard, mouse, audio and USB 2.0 over Ethernet cabling. The new line of KVM over IP solutions will debut at their InfoComm 2017 booth (#1973), according to business development manager Caroline Injoyan.

“Matrox Extio 3’s unique design leverages the most widely deployed Ethernet infrastructure to securely remote high-performance workstations,” she said. “The availability of the proxy stream will enable customers to easily move information over the network—beyond the control room—Extio 3 is more than just KVM, it’s a collaboration hub.”

The company says that, when combined with standard GigE network switches, the Extio 3 series of KVM over IP products can be used to assemble cost-effective IP extension and switching systems.

Engineered to facilitate collaboration, the products offers a secondary  H.264 proxy video stream and compatibility with H.264 software/hardware decoders, enabling users to view selected desktops on mobile devices. Users can also record content to network attached storage (NAS), or they can display it on video walls.

Matrox points out the Extio 3 also provides flexibility for use in industrial automation and process control, healthcare, transportation, defense, government, broadcast, production industries, and other areas.

The Canadian manufacturer adds integrators can configure the products as point-to-point or networked KVM systems with centralized installations in climate-controlled server rooms.
