Published: 2018-04-03

NAB  2018 takes place on April 7-12 in Las Vegas, and during the annual event, the VITEC MGW Diamond Encoder and Playout Server will be on display.

Exhibiting in booth number SL6821 during the show, VITEC says the MGW Diamond Encoder and Playout Server expands its selection of HEVC video distribution solutions.

“At VITEC we know our customers need much more than a one-type-fits-all streaming system, and that they’re looking to take advantage of the phenomenal bandwidth savings of advanced HEVC compression,” says Mark D’Addio, senior vice president of sales and marketing, VITEC.

“That’s why  we are expanding our HEVC offering, which provides a full ecosystem of encoding and decoding solutions that fit a wider range of applications requirements. Together with the VITEC Playout Server, we present a reliable platform to deliver HEVC streams over the most demanding network environments—even over the cloud.”

The  HEVC streaming solution is said to offer users, “unmatched video quality and highly efficient bandwidth compression.”

According to VITEC, the MGW Diamond Encoder also features built-in advanced stream protection that “guarantees” reliable video distribution over any network, including the Internet.

The company will demonstrate the MGW Diamond portable HEVC and H.264 HD/SD encoder during the 2018 NAB Show for show attendees to experience on a first-hand basis. The company notes the encoder can be used for multichannel broadcast applications where size, weight and power requirements (SWaP) are priorities.

The company adds that its Playout Server, which will also be on display, provides users with an efficient means to capture, manage and preview IPTV-protected streams transmitted by its encoders from any location.

Content from the Playout Server can be distributed within a target network for rebroadcast, video-on demand (VoD) or any other similar application.
