Extinct: Typewriters

A typewriter was the skeleton of what a computer hoped to be. It consisted of a keyboard attached to mechanical levers with ink on them that placed that letter onto a piece of paper as you typed. This created a typed document that closely resembles the text on the screen you’re reading today.

Typewriters were the office equivalent of the Easy Bake Oven. Yes, you were creating an actual product that could be consumed when finished, but ultimately, it was limiting.
