Starin Launches Hardware-as-a-Service Program

Published: 2020-08-12

Audiovisual solutions distributor Starin has launched a new channel program as part of Midwich Group’s own global Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) program designed to give integrators and resellers the ability to provide HaaS for Zoom Rooms deployments.

In an Aug. 5 press release, Starin said the program aims to provide Zoom end users a complete Zoom Rooms experience with support, service and upgrades without breaking the bank.

Via its channel partners, Starin delivered “thousands” of Zoom Rooms last year, but preserving cash and optimizing remote communication is now the business imperative for many, President Bobby Swartz said in a statement.

“We have offered HaaS since 2018 on a select basis with our Zoom kits, right for simple DIY huddle spaces. So, itis proven,” Swartz said.

“With our global footprint and our ongoing focus on complete Zoom Solutions for our channel, we have crafted and perfected HaaS in a way that meets the demands of a changing economic environment.”

The program, like other as-a-service offerings, advertises a low up-front cost in favor of monthly payments that include service, support and technology upgrades.

“HaaS goes beyond just getting hardware on a monthly payment. It is about confidence, where support completes the experience.” Said Malissa Dillman, Director of Market Development at Starin, in a statement.

Midwich’s program, announced Aug. 12, includes a worldwide distribution partnership with Poly to help meet the demand for Zoom Rooms.

In Starin’s press release, the company says DTEN and Poly appliances will be among the first to be provided via the program.

Starin’s program was launched about a month after Zoom launched its own HaaS program in which the company sells equipment from DTEN, Neat, Poly and Yealink.
