Aurora ASP-88-4K Switcher Handles 4K, 3D, 7.1 Digital Audio

New matrix switcher from Aurora Multimedia is HDCP-compliant and offers a choice of RS-232 and LAN control.

As the 4K, UltraHD market continues to grow and mature, the need for multi-source, multi-zone solutions will become more important.

Helping to support the growing need for UltraHD-compliant switching solutions is the Morganville, N.J.-based manufacturer Aurora Multimedia.

Adding to its Aspyre line of matrix switch products, the company has announced its new Aspyre Series ASP-88-4K matrix switch, which the company says fills the market need for an affordable 4K switching solution.

The 8×8 UltraHD matrix switcher routes up to eight sources with full support of 4K and 3D video content and 7.1 digital audio, to as many as eight displays. The company points out the HDCP-compliant product supports default HDMI EDID with options to learn the EDID of displays.

The product also allows for any source to display on multiple displays the same time, and the rack-friendly product’s front-panel interface also allows for control and source routing.

In addition, it also offers a choice of RS-232 and LAN control that includes built-in browser-based options that facilitate control through easy-to-navigate web pages.
