Bose Expands F1 Loudspeaker, Dante Line, ControlSpace Remote Software

Published: 2016-02-25

Hall 7 at Integrated Systems Europe 2016 was dedicated to all things audio. One of the largest booths in that space was occupied by Bose. Bose is known for its speakers and EQ settings that “just work” in spaces. This year the company is adding to that family an addition to their F1 loudspeaker offerings.

The F1 has been Bose’s flexible array speakers. It allows for the steering of audio from straight on, focused up, down, or its “C” pattern which gives a wide spread. This speaker line has primarily been powered. At the show it was demonstrating a passive version of the speaker. This means you do not have to have local power and can use your amplifier of choice.

Bose has also expanded its Dante line of products. The EP40-D and EP22-D allows for analog audio to be injected into a traditional Dante network. The 40 gives you four inputs into the network while the 22 gives you two inputs and two outputs. The 22 is great for situations where you want to add audio to a network while also giving that same area audio from the network.

Finally, Bose has redesigned their ControlSpace Remote software, currently 2.0. This gives the user, or integrator, the ability to control various zones in the customer’s space. You can offer presets, adjust individual zone leve3ls, and gives access to the Dante network. This new version gives the integrator the option of customizing the interface for the end user by allowing you to upload custom graphics to the ControlSpace Remote and give it a unique look and feel.

The software is free as is the ControlSpace Designer software.
