Boxlight Acquires Mimio, Expands Growth in K-12 Edtech Market

Boxlight Corporation has broadened its selection of classroom technology solutions with its acquisition of Mimio, a provider of interactive teaching technologies.

Boxlight’s current classroom solutions are a resource for districts such as Round Rock (Texas) Independent School District, Department of Defense Schools worldwide, Atlanta (Ga.) Public Schools and Fort Worth and Dallas Independent School Districts.

According to the press release, combining Boxlight’s interactive classroom technology and Mimio’s classroom hardware and software solutions will provide districts with a complete line of progressive and integrated classroom technologies.

“This investment represents an important strategic opportunity to offer the best and most attractive product portfolio in the education technology industry and to be the single source for fully integrated classroom solutions in the United States and worldwide,” says Mark Elliott, CEO of Boxlight Corporation, in the press release. “It also incorporates an incredibly talented team of executives with decades of experience and resources from both companies.”

In addition to expanding its interactive technology solutions, the union will also extend the complementary hardware, software and resources with the offering of the 24/7/365 U.S.-based service and technical support that is synonymous with Boxlight.
