What would the Digital Signage Expo be without digital signage?

This week at DSE 2014, attendees are being greeted by “Social Buzz” two video walls at the entrance to the event. Insteo, BrightSign, Philips Commercial and Peerless-AV collaborated to create video walls that welcome and highlight social media posts and photos.

“We’re dedicated to strengthening partnerships within the digital signage industry and continuing our work with DSE,” says Jeff Hastings, BrightSign CEO.  “It is always an honor to be selected by show management for the prestigious responsibility of powering an entry installation that becomes more impressive each year. The selection of BrightSign players is a testament to the reliability and flexibility of our solid-state platform.”’

BrightSign provided solid-state players that distribute content to Philips displays secured by Peerless-AV mounts. Insteo used the BrightSign Network to update the video walls.

“Insteo is more commonly known for HTML5 digital content, but our background is originally in motion graphics and animation,” says Jim Nista, CEO and creative director at Insteo. “We recognized that a pre-rendered video loop wouldn’t fit with the need for up-to-date social buzz, but we wanted to showcase more dynamic motion graphics. We’re using BrightSign Network to deliver frequent updates so we can have the best of both – eye-catching rendered video and fresh content.”

DSE also selected Insteo to create an interactive registration map illustrating the attendees’ global origins. Powered by Elo Touch, Peerless-AV and Cradlepoint, the map allows visitors to add themselves through a smartphone to show the diversity of attendees.
