Commercial Integrator Comes to Europe with Essential Install

Published: 2014-02-25

EH Publishing, publisher of Commercial Integrator, CE Pro, and Security Sales & Integration, announces its expansion into Europe with an investment in Essential Install, producer of a leading magazine and trade show in the U.K.

“Our existing U.S.-centric publications for the home and commercial technology sectors are leaders in their respective categories,” says EH Publishing CEO Ken Moyes. “They already have large and loyal readerships throughout Europe and the EMEA. It made sense to formalize our presence there.”

The partnership includes an investment by EH in All Things Media, a young company that produces Essential Install magazine for home technology integrators, and the U.K. trade show Essential Install Live!

EH plans to quickly boost the editorial content for Essential with the help of Commercial Integrator editor Tom LeBlanc as well as CE Pro editor and co-founder Julie Jacobson and editor-in-chief Jason Knott.

Jacobson, having covered Integrated Systems Europe for five years, has deep connections in the area. She, LeBlanc, and Knott will assist the Essential team, including editor Daniel Sait.

The editorial team, along with EH’s talented web developers, will move immediately to launch the best website in the EMEA for commercial and home integrators.

David Kitchener, co-director of All Things Media, explains the addition of financial and editorial resources will help Essential thrive in the region, which has been challenging over the past five years with its own limited resources.

“We have a strong stable of U.S. advertisers who have been asking us to help grow their brands in the EMEA markets,” Moyes says. “We will now be able to do that with a dedicated product and dedicated staff.”

Essential Install Live! South will be held on June 11-12, 2014, in Surrey. Essential Install Live! North is in Manchester on October 15, 2014. Both events already have significant commitment for booths and the attendances are predicted to break previous records.

In addition to these properties, All Things Media owns Essential Café and Essential Café Live! , the leading coffee-house magazine and trade event for the coffee trade.

“We have gone through some tough times building a business that helps our audiences do their jobs better – it has not been easy,” Kitchener says. “Our team looks forward to doing even more to help the custom and commercial install markets and the coffee shop market grow with quality and timely information and service.”
