So will the event’s sponsors, the latest of which is AVI-SPL which joins FSR, Crestron, Media Vision, Sapphire Marketing and West Penn Wire.

From NSCA:

With its generous donation, AVI-SPL is not only helping our industry build the next generation of systems integration professionals, but also supporting new programs that allow existing industry professionals to acquire new skills.

“The Cutting Room fundraising event wouldn’t be possible without our industry professionals and their support of the NSCA Education Foundation and the Drunk Unkles,” says NSCA Education Foundation Director Chuck Wilson. “AVI-SPL has been a longstanding supporter of this cause, and has now raised the bar as a leader to make this fundraiser a success.”

A large portion of AVI-SPL’s donation will be directed to the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) K-12 initiative, created by NSCA and SIA (Security Industry Association). When a school makes an investment in security, PASS wants to help them make sure their money spent on the right solutions. The guidelines created by PASS walk schools step-by-step through identifying potential threats, as well as the security layers they should employ.

“PASS provides a technology roadmap for administrators and educators who simply can’t keep current on all the options,” Wilson adds. “What’s so special about this donation is that it’s going toward a cause that AVI-SPL views as a social priority to benefit everyone – it’s an altruistic backing of our mission.”

Mayhem in Manhattan tickets are $20 on the website (http://ticketf.ly/1JSv4s1); they are $25 at the door. All proceeds go to the NSCA Education Foundation to fuel much-needed initiatives that strengthen best practices within the systems integration industry.

The Drunk Unkles began more than 10 years ago as a way to share our love for music. The band performed its first fundraising event to support the family of an industry peer who unexpectedly lost his life. Ten years later, we’ve raised $1 million for the benefit of hundreds of people. The members of the Drunk Unkles and their supporting sponsor companies include: Felix Robinson from AVI-SPL, Mike Sinclair from Audio Incorporated, Mike Phillips from BMG Hudson, John Cardone from Cardone Solomon & Associates, Marc Hochlerin from Longman Lindsey, “Aunt” Lisa Wenger, and Steve Emspak from Shen Milsom & Wilke.
