InfoComm 2015 Must See: The Brand New Matrox Mura IPX

Published: 2015-06-03

Matrox will showcase its brand new Matrox Mura IPX Series at booth #2567 at this year’s InfoComm show.

Samuel Recine, director of sales for the Americas and Asia Pacific at Matrox, took the time to talk to CI about what the company has planned for integrators visiting its booth at InfoComm 2015, June 17-19 in Orlando.

If we learn about only one product innovation in your InfoComm 2015 booth, what should it be?

Our brand new Matrox Mura IPX Series. Boards pack 4K video capture and IP encode/decode functionality onto a single PCIe card. OEMs and AV system builders can now deliver advanced video wall controllers with high-quality, low-bit-rate, multi-channel 4K encoding over a standard IP network. This simplifies installations and reduces costs in digital signage, AV presentations, and other applications.

With Mura IPX, you can capture/encode/decode an entire video wall anywhere on the network for easy monitoring and recording. For example, in regard to control room environments, an administrator can keep track of high-pressure situations on a single monitor elsewhere in the facility. This is one application we’ll be demonstrating at InfoComm.

What if we have time to see one more thing?

The Matrox encode/decode ecosystem featuring Mura IPX, Matrox C-Series multi-display graphics cards and Matrox Maevex H.264 encoders & decoders.

Mura IPX was designed to work with multi-display graphics cards like C-Series (also compatible with Mura MPX video wall processor cards). We’re demonstrating that interoperability by remoting an entire Mura MPX-powered video wall onto a Matrox C680-powered UHD monitor with Mura IPX. We’re also simultaneously decoding content from another C680-powered, 3×2 wall driven onto that same monitor.

We’ll also be highlighting compatibility between Mura IPX and Maevex. Content on the Mura-powered wall will be encoded by a Mura IPX board and then decoded by a Maevex H.264 decoder onto a 1080p monitor. Whether you are looking to scale the video wall on the monitor or simply display a specific region of interest, you can do it easily.

What’s one last impression you’d like us to take away from your InfoComm 2015 booth?

Matrox products can work collaboratively to create all kinds of different installations and meet specific requirements. With high-quality, low-bit-rate 4K encode/decode over IP, OEMs have the potential to capitalize on new high-density, AV-over-IP, video wall opportunities. You can contact Matrox for more information.
