InfoComm Newcomers Compete To Earn $10,000, Free 2016 Booth

Published: 2015-06-08

InfoComm International‘s showcase event has been following the industry trend of setting attendance records for the past few years, but that success hasn’t stopped organizers from tweaking some areas and adding plenty of new ones for the 2015 edition being held June 13-19 in Orlando, Fla.

Among the new additions to the InfoComm tradeshow floor is the Innovations Showcase, an area that will feature 20 new-to-market first-time InfoComm exhibitors, with products ranging from hardware to software that revolutionize displays, control systems, video systems, room scheduling and much more.

Throughout the show, companies that were chosen for the showcase will be competing to earn a $10,000 grand prize and a free booth at InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas. Attendees can vote daily on the most innovative products they see and they’ll be eligible for daily prizes too.

The Innovations Showcase represents a fun way to highlight some of the best newcomers to the show floor, says Jason McGraw, senior vice president of exhibitions for InfoComm International. He notes about 200 manufacturers at the show every year are new or haven’t had booths in several years. For those who like to spend a lot of time on the so-called back 40 searching for hidden gems, InfoComm has taken some of the work out of it for them.

“It helps to put a lot more focus on what’s new and what’s next,” says McGraw. “The number one reason people come to this show is to see what’s new to the market.”

McGraw expects to see a high level of traffic in the Innovations Showcase area and thinks it offers potential for future growth.

“We hope we can build on it going for ward,” he says. “We cast a pretty wide net trying to market it. It’s a good area for investors, venture capitalists and analysts to check out too, to see what’s coming next and what they might want to invest in.”
