Good news for those who have been searching for a simpler way to add background music and a paging system to their mid-size locations: TOA’s new MA-725F-AM matrix amplifier is in stock and is now shipping.
The mixer-amplifier “was developed from TOA’s years of experience providing background music and paging solutions for the retail/hospitality industry and in cooperation with our biggest customers,” according to a company press release.
The MA-725F-AM “is designed to address the demand for a simpler and more cost-effective, mid-level background music and paging system needing higher power with multiple zones,” the TOA announcement says. The MA-725F-AM “provides many of the advanced features of higher-priced products, but without the complicated setup or programming required by many other solutions,” according to the press release.

Built around a high-quality 6-input digital matrix mixer (with 4 inputs for BGM or line sources and two balanced inputs for priority sources, like paging mics or message players) paired with a 4 x 250W (@70V or 100V) Class D amplifier and a simple “analog-like” user-interface, the MA-725F-AM is one of the most cost-effective, efficient & flexible workhorse products ever offered for BGM applications.
The digital mixer section also features a menu of 64 speaker EQ presets (selectable by dip-switch), factory-loaded to optimize the sound of most popular TOA PA speakers. It even provide settings to allow bi-amping with subwoofers. Custom EQ presets may also be stored in these memory slots. TOA will also offer a non-powered (MM-700F-AM) Matrix Mixer only version for use with other amplifiers. The unit also operates on power from 110-240VAC, so it will work virtually anywhere in the world.
The optional WP-700-AM wall controller for volume and source selection, which connects easily via a single CAT5 cable to each of the four output channels, is also available.
