The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based A/V mounting equipment manufacturer Chief has introduced a new stand that is designed for portable applications.[related]

Part of the Milestone family of brands — which also includes Da-Lite, Sanus, Vaddio and Projecta — Chief says that it worked with professional integrators in the rental and staging markets to find out the common problems related to display stands that they encounter on a daily basis.

Chief states the results of its research found that installation speed, equipment storage and overall wear-and-tear where the most common issues that rental and staging professionals dealt with in the field.

Responding to the results of its research into these problems, Chief developed its PRSU portable AV stand.

“This project was unique,” says Kathryn Gaskell, manager, product management, Chief. “It was as important to think about what the mount should do when you are not using it … [its] how you get from point A to [point] B.”

Chief PRSU Portable AV Stand Addresses Installation Issues

Chief explains the PRSU portable AV stand is engineered to provide long-term service to withstand the rigors of portable usages in the rental and staging industries.

Addressing the ease of installation and the labor requirements of setting up AV stands, the company notes the stand sets up quickly and it breaks down just as fast. Aiding the portable PRSU’s integrator friendliness, Chief also designed the portable AV stand to fold up to allow professional integrators to easily store the product.

Chief supports the PRSU A/V stand’s storage capabilities with a customized wheeled case accessory—the PAC 900—that can be stacked or set upright to allow it to live in trucks and warehouse spaces.

Some of the other Chief PRSU convenience features include tilt, height adjustments; cable management, padlock security, landscape and portrait orientation modes, and tool-free installation capabilities.

The portable AV stand also includes a 200 x 200 universal mounting pattern, and the ability to support 200 pounds. Additional PRSU accessories like the PAC910 shelf enable the portable stand to hold a variety of source components.
