Cisco and video management system company Panopto have announced a new integration that expands Panopto’s meeting intelligence solution and allows enterprises and educational institutions to Webex to transfer meeting recordings into a searchable on-demand library.
The meeting recordings would be searchable and shareable at scale inside businesses and across virtual and physical campuses, according to an announcement from Panopto. This is available in the Cisco Webex App Hubb.
The company’s Smart Chapters feature provides a table of contents and visual index of the meeting so users can quickly find key meeting moments.
This tool could be a useful add-on to conference rooms, especially as many offices still aren’t open or operating at full capacity due to social distancing guidelines.
Recording meetings can be useful for team members who weren’t able to make the call, or for students who had to miss class.
However, this can be challenging for the IT department, as many organizations use several unified communications platforms and recordings are stored in several different places.

According to Panopto, it’s video content management system centralizes and secures the recordings at scale, giving system admins a wide variety of controls to determine which recordings automatically route to the company’s platform.
Using artificial intelligence, the platform creates a table of contents inside each video, and an intelligent search feature lets users look for specific moments by keyword.
Using Single Sign On, meetings are discoverable via mobile or desktop. An analytics dashboard can tell administrators who is watching which videos, how long they’ve watched and how they interacted with the video.
