Philips was dabbling in some of the more fringe display technology at the show, including autostereoscopic 3D and transparent screens. It demonstrated one of the coolest applications of transparent display technology with a vending machine prototype. The portrait-oriented screen included touch capacity, so when someone “swipes” a finger on a drink that’s for sale (or conceivably anything sold in a vending environment), it would trigger an image and information to appear on the display.
