How These Well-Known AV Companies Got Their Names, slide 8

Tigerpaw

We started in 1984 when my father started the company. My dad was tired of the corporate life and doing any kind of consulting he could find. He called his company “Information Management Consultants.”

We were really close to an air force base, where a lot of airmen where moonlighting as “information consultant.” It became a dirty word. So we needed a new name.

We were sitting around my dad’s house one night  — he’s got a tiger tattoo and lots of tiger stuff. I suggested Tigerpaw because he loves tiger stuff. It stuck.
