Severtson Screens has announced Toby Severtson has been named the company’s president and chief executive officer effective immediately.
Severtson Screens’ founder and owner Ron Severtson remains chairman of the board, and will dedicate more time to product R&D for the maker of home theater and commercial A/V projection screens.
“I am looking forward to help continuing the tradition of what my father has built over the past 25 years,” explains Toby Severtson, who comes to the family business after spending the past 18 years at Motorola, Inc. in various IT managerial capacities, most recently as senior director.
“As Severtson Screens continues to grow into the home theater market, and as we expand even further into the cinema market, we realized that we needed my father to dedicate even more time to R&D, since he is a pioneering visionary in these industries. As I take on the responsibilities of the president and chief executive officer, he can also dedicate more time to take the company’s product offerings to the next level.”
Severtson Corporation, based in Mesa, Ariz., will have its 30th anniversary in 2016.
“What I love to do is develop new and exciting products,” explains Ron Severtson. “Having my son, Toby, step in and take control of the business side of the company will allow me to do just that and to also help pursue other opportunities to further grow the business.”
