BEAVERTON, Oregon — June 8, 2017 — On the heels of expanding its on-demand and in-person certification programs, Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, continues its dedication to education and training at InfoComm 2017, 

June 14-16, in Orlando, Florida. Biamp’s L. William Nattress III, CTS-D, CTS-I, director of channel strategy — paging for Biamp Systems, and InfoComm 2017 CTS® Holder of the Year; Zach Snook, senior applications engineer; and Dave Barton, vice president of innovation and technology; will lead speaking sessions at the show.

10 a.m.-12 p.m., Nattress will address considerations for planning a long-term, sustainable technology strategy to build and evolve classroom and meeting room spaces. This session will focus on the tools and strategies to successfully plan, deploy, support, and update the communication technologies within these environments.

Nattress will also lead a session entitled “Next Generation of Mass Notification,” held Wednesday, June 14, 8-10 a.m. He will review the significant changes within the 2016 release of the NFPA-72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, which now places great importance on informing occupants of the nature of the emergency and what they’re are expected to do in response. This session will focus on considerations and best practices for mass notification systems that employ audio, passive signage, active signage, and textual notifications along with the business opportunities available to the AV industry in providing these solutions.

The panel session “AVB/TSN: The Evolution of Ethernet and IP for Audio, Video and Beyond,” held Thursday, June 15, 8-10 a.m., will explore best practices for distributing time-sensitive audio, video, and control signals over Ethernet. Snook will take part in this session covering AVB/TSN network features and protocol definitions. Attendees will learn design considerations for laying out an AVB/TSN network, the importance of device interoperability and certification, and troubleshooting techniques.

The “Unified Communications & Collaboration Roadmap” panel, presented in partnership with IMCCA, held Thursday, June 15, 12-1 p.m., will teach attendees how to build a comprehensive Unified Communications (UC) strategy. Joining other panelists, Barton will address the need for organizations to consider video, telephony, instant messaging and collaboration products in tandem, considering the right blend of technologies and features to ensure success.
