ZyCast Adds 3G-SDI Connectivity to Encoders and Modulators

Published: 2016-10-07

ZyCast Technology, Inc. recently added 3G-SDI connectivity to its encoders and encoder/modulator product lines.

“Adding 3G-SDI, the input preferred by professionals, was the clear next step to staying at the forefront of the industry,” says ZyCast CEO LC Chang in a press release announcing the new capability.

“Many of our customers are selling solutions to higher education and broadcast environments. It’s an addition we have had on our roadmap for some time.”

The addition of 3G-SDI allows integrators the ability to encode 3G-SDI and HD-SDI/SDI cameras into in-house video cable systems and IP networks.

Here’s more about ZyCast adding 3G-SDI connectivity to their encoders and encoder/modulator product lines:

Four new products in ZyCast’s best-selling IP streamer line with the ability to input 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SDI, HDMI, Component, and/or Composite are being released to the North American market, the HDS-800, HDS-8100, HDDSB-8604, and the Hybrid HDDHB4.

“The HDS-800 3G-SDI Streaming Server offers an input solution for any environment now,” offered Chang. The second product is the HDS-8100, an encoder stacked with eight 3G-SDI inputs. “With this, commercial integrators have a solution that offers HD IP video to their broadcasting clients for in-house IP video distribution.”

The third product, the HDDSB-8604 encoder/modulator, is a 3G-SDI solution that is replete with QAM, IP and ASI output married with EAS functionality. “It is loaded with features for any environment,” emphasizes Chang.

Finally, to complement the HDS-8100 and HDDSB-8604, the Hybrid 4×4 HDDHB4 has been added.

“We recognized that not everyone would need eight 3G-SDI inputs, so we scaled this model down to four SDI inputs,” Chang commented. “It’s the best of both worlds with four 3G-SDI and four HDMI/component/composite inputs. We are continuing to expand our product offerings to our customers, not just in the US but around the world.”

Terrestrial-based HD-SDI equivalents are currently also in production for international markets.
