InfoComm 2014 Must See: BrightSign’s ‘True’ 4K Media Players

Published: 2014-06-17

BrightSign will introduce the new line of affordable commercial-grade BrightSign 4K players at this year’s InfoComm.

Jeffrey Hastings took some time to talk to CI about BrightSign and what the company has planned for integrators visiting its booth at InfoComm 2014, June 18-20 in Las Vegas.

If we learn about only one product innovation in your InfoComm 2014 booth, what should it be?

See BrightSign 4K. We will be announcing the full line of solid-state, commercial-grade 4K players that will be shipping later this summer, starting at only $600.

BrightSign’s 4K players are being chosen by partners across the ProAV space for their end-to-end support of the new technology standards for true 4K playback, and because of BrightSign’s reputation for extreme reliability, affordability and ease-of-use.

In addition, BrightSign’s 4K player incorporates all of the features of the industry’s best selling solid state digital signage platform, including HTML5 content support, video wall synchronization, BrightAuthor and BrightSign Network support.

A media player’s support of the true 4K ecosystem requires the ability to decode H.265-encoded 4K content at a pixel resolution of 3840×2160, and output it to a display via HDMI 2.0 at a frame rate of 60p. The BrightSign 4K is the first player of its kind to successfully deliver on all counts.

The latest advances in streaming technology are also supported by BrightSign 4K, including support for MPEG-DASH.

What if we have time to see one more thing?

Secondly, be sure to see a stunning 6-screen video wall created with BrightWall, a powerful new content creation tool for making video walls in any size and layout. Simply choose the number of displays and specify the configuration of your video wall, then drag your video into BrightAuthor. This powerful new feature uses a common clock to achieve frame-accurate synchronization.

What’s one last impression you’d like us to take away from your InfoComm 2014 booth?

Please notice the large number of ProAV partner companies that are working closely with BrightSign. Not only are our 4K players running the stunning 4K displays in a vast number of InfoComm booths across the show floor, but within the BrightSign booth, we are showcasing integrated technology demos with partners like Crestron Electronics, TSI Touch, QuiVidi, DISH, Elemental Technologies, and more.
