Panasonic Wins ISE 2016 for Aisle Entertainment and Smallest Narrow Bezel LED Video Wall

Published: 2016-02-16

Panasonic had a successful Integrated Systems Europe last week in Amsterdam, having shown off the company’s latest and greatest products; including the world’s smallest narrow bezel LED video wall.

Panasonic boasted one of the busiest stands on the show floor thanks to its unique approach to stand entertainment. Visitors to ISE were able to experience Panasonic’s 98-inch 4K displays mounted upon robotic arms for a performance never before seen at ISE.

The show encompassed everything from live performers and music to visual elements and dancing robotic arms.

Panasonic worked in collaboration with events company XPION to create the ‘Robotic Experience’ for those visiting its stand.

Of course it wasn’t all about robotic arms on Panasonic’s stand. The company also had a plethora of products to show off designed for the commercial market. These included a 1.8mm bezel video wall display, which Panasonic claims is the world’s smallest narrow bezel LED video wall, as well as the industry’s most compact 10,000 lumens laser 1-chip DLP projector.

Panasonic’s main focus for ISE 2016 was its highest brightness 3-chip DLP projector series to date, the PT-RZ31K. This projector series boasts both WUXGA and SXGA+ resolutions with each outputting 28,000 centre lumens of brightness.

Panasonic’s Harmut Kulessa, European projector marketing manager, described the projection mapping market as “one of the largest growing segments in the projector market as a whole.”

Kulessa claims that 25 percent of those who responded to a survey asking about projection mapping revenue say that they have seen an increase in revenues by up to 50 percent in the last 12 months. Fourteen percent of respondents claim that their revenues have increased by over 100 percent. In fact, 75 percent of those surveyed believed projection mapping was increasingly being used to replace traditional entertainment approaches, such as fireworks.

Despite being bullish on the projector market however, Panasonic is also keen to stress that it is seeing growth in other markets as well; including the LED video wall market.

At ISE 2016 Panasonic showcased its expanded display line-up, which included the 55in video wall display with a bezel to bezel width of 1.8mm. Panasonic claims that this is the smallest narrow bezel LED video wall on the market, with the company hoping to retain that title until its release in September 2016.

Also being shown off in Amsterdam was Panasonic’s EF1 series which adds 84, 75 and 32in displays to the existing entry series, while focusing on high image quality, reliability and self-contained functionality in the IPS panels. The BF1 series also broke cover for the first time in Amsterdam. The PC-less interactive whiteboard boasts color universal design, an anti-glare screen and a number of wired connections.

While Panasonic’s ISE 2016 was a busy one in terms of visual technologies, the company also had time to show off its ‘Light ID’ technology, which enables sharing of content via a mobile App for information, entertainment, guidance and advertising, using the transmission of Light IDs from LED displays.

“We have gone bigger and better at ISE 2016, with our biggest ever booth and more visual applications on show than ever before,” says Jan Markus Jahn, director of Panasonic visual system solutions. “Our range of projectors and displays is now extremely strong. I can say with confidence that Panasonic offers end-to-end visual solutions, suitable for every end user.”
