Well another InfoComm is in the books.
It was the first one I’d attended in a few years and the overriding theme from the booths I visited seemed to be about furthering collaboration—whether that applies to the increasingly broadening options in the actual unified communications and collaboration (UCC) space, or perhaps more to the collaboration involved in fostering more of that ‘trusted advisor’ relationship between integrator and customer, or via products and solutions that help feed the collaborative chain from integrator to customer to (in some cases) customer’s end user.
Whatever the case may be, dealers are always looking for ways to stand apart from the competition. This could be in the technology they install, the verticals they target, the services they offer, etc. During InfoComm 2015 in Orlando, Fla., manufacturers and distributors appeared ready and willing to offer commercial integrators solutions that are potential difference makers in their business.
The instances of these dealer-friendly, collaboration-leaning technologies and services spanned the show floor, revealing themselves everywhere from aesthetically minded audio products to powerfully simple conference platforms to flexible video installation methods and much more “why didn’t we think of that” types of offerings.
