MikroTik Joins SDVoE Alliance as Adopting Member

The SDVoE Alliance this week announced that MikroTik, a manufacturer of networking hardware and software focused on security and innovation, has joined the SDVoE Alliance as an adopting member.

“We are happy to join the ranks of SDVoE Alliance,” said Deniss Truhanovs, the head of innovation at MikroTik, in the announcement. “If we want to build a smart future for the whole world, collaboration is key. We are excited to see what new projects can emerge from this.

“I am sure all members of the SDVoE Alliance can benefit from our wide range of flexible 10G SFP+ and 10G copper products. The versatility of our RouterOS software is unparalleled, bound only by your creativity,” he said.

“We welcome MikroTik to the SDVoE Alliance and look forward to collaborating with them and on their more than 20 years’ experience in building data network infrastructures,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance, in the joint announcement.

“SDVoE Alliance members and customers will no doubt appreciate the widespread availability and support for their products via distributors throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania,” he said.

“All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency and uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology,” according to the alliance announcement.

SDVoE “provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability,” the announcement says.

SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, offering cost savings and system flexibility and scalability.

The SDVoE Alliance this week announced its 2021 board of directors made up of pro AV experts from the six steering member companies — Black Box, Christie, IDK Corporation, NETGEAR, Semtech and ZeeVee — plus Grandbeing who won this year’s election to represent the contributing member companies.

Justin Kennington retains his role as president of the SDVoE Alliance.

The SDVoE Alliance board of directors for 2021 is: Ryohei Iwasaki, IDK Corporation; Keith Kennedy, Grandbeing; Laurent Masia, NETGEAR; Jonathan McCune, Black Box; Bob Michaels, ZeeVee; Don Shaver, Semtech; and Clark Williams, Christie.
